Economical, easy to drive, automatic, good on motorway, quiet interior, comfortable ride, good acceleration.

Limited height for limited consuption.

The boot space on modern EVs can be ridiculously huge even when the car isn't *that* big. I don't mind cars being fairly lengthy -- after all, the estate car has a long pedigree and has fitted on British roads for many decades. It's the width of modern cars that is increasingly an issue.

Internal space suitable for sleepover,

Medium-sized city, 15-08-2025
width > 1800mm is quite unaccepatble

Station wagon and fast

It needs to fit in both of our suitcases in the boot. I no idea what size these are in litres. What a bizarre way to measure your boot space!

A manual wagon with a roomy interior. Should be comfortable for driving to more remote places, and have reasonable towing capacity.

Small city, 07-08-2025
Electric Roomy cabin and boot but overall as small as possible. No f** SUV. Towing Capacity over 750kg and a Range of 500-550km

Small city, 04-08-2025
It should be able to transport various things in the back, like my bicycle, wooden planks, gravel, sand and dirt in bags of 40 litres and fit at least 6 people, because I go with my friends on roadtrips. And the car should be functional, not a pavement princess; it should go off-road without me fearing getting stuck or dirtying it. Also, it should have a manual gearbox, a towing hitch and an engine that doesn't consume much fuel, preferably a diesel or a hybrid (also PHEV).

it will be for a family contains that 3 adults and 2 kids.

Roomie, big windows, not touch shity buttons all over the panel. Soft suspension but with 17" tires.

Small city, 12-07-2025
Yaris cross

Medium-sized city, 09-07-2025
Reliable, durable, cheap to run, space for 4 full size adults, space for weekly groceries and long items (ideally folding front passenger seat), excellent visibility, very tight turning circle for parking and tight roads, excellent behaviour over pot ridden roads (no crashing), high ground clearance to avoiding hitting the ground on speed bump and other surfaces, allowed to drive in most/all roads (e.g. Euro 6), reasonably comfortable on longer motorway trips, enough power to cope with hills and sleep roads, easy to drive and operate (e.g. physical buttons for climate control), practical and easy to drive, no idiot engineering (e.g. wet belts, tiny mirrors, dashboard that reflects into windscreen or control in wrong places). No need for big wheels, sun roofs or sporty looks.

I'm sick and tired of extremely large cars

Petrol. 5 doors. Easy to drive. Quick. Retractable mirrors. Not low profile tyres. Easy to park. Very good visability.

A Renault 4 or MG ZS (both designs appeal to me) but Toyota-like reliable and making a good use of the space inside the car, just like how spacious the old Yaris Verso is inside, despite being below 4m in length. For a drive train hybrid is great, electrics are just not yet there. Make it 4x4 (snow, mud, terrible country roads) and give it either a DSG or a manual (actual manual hybrid would be neat) and a real spare wheel (can be on the boot door). High ground clearance is welcome since my city has humongous curbs. Give it a shorter bonnet, take away fancy gimmicks and tablets - leave just electric windows and mirrors, ac vents in the back and a rear camera. So either make the ZS reliable or downscale my 2010 RAV4 to 80% size and make it less thirsty (or a hybrid) and we're good.

Needs to be able to fit a travel mobility scooter in the back

Small city, 04-06-2025
A small, front wheel-drive (4wd option too), estate. That or a vehicle that is neither a van conversion or a people-carrier. A, from-the-ground-up design, 2-seater vehicle designed for those who like sports, but with decent suspension, high quality practical interior, and lots of intelligent options for carrying bikes, camping gear, canoes, surfboards, skis, snowboards, etc... A modern, 'Sportsmobile' instead of some kitsch design VW Buzz that only plays to the nostalgia of inactive, Dad-rock types, ah, I can dream.

Large city, 01-06-2025
Easy to get into for seniors, easy to park, rear camera, folding wing mirrors.

Village, 25-05-2025
Practical with flat folding rear seat. Low loading lip. Proper controls for main functions. No intrusive driver 'aids'.

BMW 2 Gran Tourer by its dimensions is ideal car for me.

Village, 06-05-2025
4x4 with at least 210mms of ground clearance, small front and rear overhangs a maximum length of 4.3m and a width of around 1.8m excluding mirrors ideal height 1.75m
